    Weekend Youth Worker

        Position Overview


        We are looking for volunteers experienced in the Social Work field, who are able to assist in the clinical aspect as well as the practical needs aspect of the Weekend Program.  Additional skills are also beneficial, such as cooking, athletic interest, arts etc.

        Help supervise Oasis Room


        Supervise youth chores


        Participate and help supervise activities


        Participate in games with youth


        Once trained, Door Supervision


        o    Taking names


        o    Weapon Check


        o    Checking Bags


        o    Understanding how to deal with potential crisis


        Kitchen clean up - dishes


        Oasis clean up:


        o    wipe down tables and counters


        o    Refill trays of food, coffee, mugs, etc.


        Set up:


        o     setting up food on trays and counters


        o    make juice, coffee


        o    setting up cups, plates, utensils


         


        Requirements


        Degree in Social Work, related field or working towards a degree or…


        1+ years experience working with youth


        Ability to approach and engage youth


         


        Other Skills/Abilities


        Clinical Background:


        - Intakes


        - One-on-ones


        Crafts – create and ideas for crafts


        Cooking – healthy living workshops


        Exercise and fitness – taking youth to the YMCA


         


        Hours of Position


        ·         Between the hours of 1 – 8:30pm, with a minimum of 3 hours
