Barrett Centre for Crisis Support provides a safe environment in the community for individuals who are experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis and who do not require a hospital stay. They serve all genders, 16 years of age or older. Our confidential and free services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

o  Interval House of Hamilton: Offers emergency shelter, counseling, and support services for women and their children fleeing domestic violence. Contact: 905-387-9959

 

Mental Health Support:

o  COAST (Crisis Outreach and Support Team): Provides crisis intervention, assessment, and referral services for individuals experiencing mental health crises. Contact: 905-972-8338

o  Youth Wellness Centre: Offers counseling, therapy, and mental health support services specifically tailored to youth aged 17-25. Contact: 905-546-3437


Addiction Support:

o  Alternatives for Youth provides community-based substance use and addiction treatment services that engage and mobilize youth and their families. Contact: (905) 527-4469

o  ADAPT (Addiction, Drug, and Alcohol Prevention and Treatment): Provides assessment, counseling, and support services for youth struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Contact: 905-546-3606

o  Mission Services of Hamilton - Youth Addiction Services: Offers addiction treatment programs, counseling, and support services for youth aged 14-24. Contact: 905-528-4211


Housing Support:

a. YWCA Hamilton - Transitional Living Program: Provides transitional housing and support services for homeless or at-risk youth aged 16-24. Contact: 905-522-9922

b. Wesley Urban Ministries - Youth Housing Support Services: Offers housing assistance, case management, and life skills training for homeless and precariously housed youth aged 16-24. Contact: 905-528-5640


Support for LGBTQ+ Programs and Services:

Hamilton Out of The Cold - 2024/2025 Meal Program 

Starting November 1, 2024, until March 31, 2025, Hamilton Out of The Cold will be providing meals to go and sit-down dinners to those in need. Here’s our schedule for the season:

Meals to Go:
- Monday: Trinity Downtown Lutheran (104 Hughson St. N) | 2 – 4 p.m.

- Tuesday: St. Joseph’s Parish (260 Herkimer St.) | 2 – 4 p.m.

- Wednesday:
Heritage Green Seventh Day Adventist (349 Isaac Brock Dr., Stoney Creek Mountain) | 2 – 5 p.m.
Erskine Presbyterian (19 Pearl St. N) | 2 – 4 p.m.
Knox Presbyterian (80 Mill St N, Waterdown) | 4 – 5 p.m.

- Thursday:
Central Presbyterian (165 Charlton Ave. W) | 3:30 – 5 p.m.
