TRI-Rock Program

Hours:

Monday - Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm

The objective of the TRI-Rock Employment Program is to assist youth who are facing employment barriers to prepare for, obtain and maintain employment. TRI-Rock is an 18 week , full-time, paid employment training program for people aged 18-30. It is split into two phases. Phase 1 is spent working at the Living Rock for 8 weeks. Participants are provided with hands-on work experience where they will develop life and employment skills.

Participants will attain certification in WHMIS, First Aid/CPR and 4 Steps to Health and Safety. Other certifications such as SMART Serve, Food Handlers and Safe Heights Training may be available only for participants that may be interested in those specific sectors of employment. Participants also participate in a variety of workshops related to building work place skills, job skills and personal skills.

Phase 2 is 10 weeks or 300 hours working in an entry level job placement in the community. After completion the employers have the option of hiring on the TRI-Rock participant permanently. There is a celebratory graduation and a completion bonus given after placement is completed. The application process is ongoing as intakes are completed every 8 weeks.
