Stacey's Place Food Bank

Hours: Tuesday & Thursday from 1pm-6pm & Saturday from 1 pm - 4 pm

Welcome to The Living Rock Food Bank, home to Stacey's Place, Hamilton's only youth-focused food bank. The food bank is the first point of contact for many youth and their families. As a part of the mission of the food bank, not only are the needs of youth met surrounding food and clothing, connections are also made to other community resources.

At Stacey's Place, we believe in comprehensive support. Our mission extends beyond simply providing groceries and clothing; we strive to empower youth by linking them to educational, recreational, informational, social, and employment programs. By addressing the root causes of poverty and breaking down barriers, we strive to help youth recognize their strengths, expand their support networks, and access to the resources they need to thrive.

Our dedicated team at Stacey's Place understands the importance of building trusting relationships. We serve as a vital entry point for youth, offering a supportive environment where they can securely grow. Through personalized support and genuine care, we lay the foundation for a brighter future.

Stacey's Place offers a range of essential services, including:

  • Groceries
  • Clothing Assistance
  • Support and Referrals
  • Connection to our Wellness Works Coordinator
  • Baby Products and Hygiene Items
  • Special Holiday Events, including Christmas Hampers

Starting in December 2020 we launched a grocery delivery program which averages 55 deliveries a month. Our Food Bank provides vulnerable youth ages 13-29 with access to free groceries, clothing, hygiene products, baby supplies and resource connections. Each year we distribute more than 60,000 pounds of food to 1,280 youth and their children.

The success of the food bank has depended on support from various community donors, including churches, businesses, individual donors, and fundraisers such as McMaster Meal Exchange, which has provided 20,000 pounds of food over the last five years, especially during times when the food bank's supply was low.

We are also grateful for the ongoing support of some special friends who have been incredibly generous in their support of the food bank. These include Marshall Memorial Church and B. Henderson. We extend our appreciation to all third-party groups that organize food and clothing drives.
