Alan Craig, Executive Director
Alan was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and moved to Canada at the age of 10.
Alan became an ordained minister in 1984, and started working in as a Chaplin in Corrections, shortly after College. His personal experience led him to become an addictions worker, and has helped him to develop strategies to reach youth who do not respond well to traditional forms of support.
In 1985, Alan started Living Rock Ministries, as the Founder and Executive Director.
Alan believes in the value of youth development and mentorship in the context of work crews and one-to-one relationships. Al Craig was the Honorary Chair (with Karen Craig) of Week of Child and Youth (2011). He also was the recipient of the prestige’s Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee Award in 2012 through nomination by Andrea Horvath, Provincial Leader and MPP Hamilton Centre.You can find out more about Alan’s life by reading his biography and the history of Living Rock Ministries in the book “The Living Rock: Between Me & a Hard Place” by Alan Craig and Suzie Chiodo.
